The Foundations of a Journey

The foundation of NV Transport Inc. dates back to the early 1990s, following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Fleeing religious persecution and political instability, our founders arrived in the United States as refugees in search of the "American Dream."

This defining journey began on February 20, 1990, with the arrival of Valery Shkurinsky. To support his family in their new home, he initially took his first job working for Larry Buckland at "Buckland Gutters." Driven by a deep sense of purpose and gratitude, Valery later became a co-founder of the charitable organization Emmanuel Mercy Mission, which was officially incorporated in August 1992.

Soon after, his brother, Nikolay Shkurinskiy, also arrived in the United States and immediately joined the mission's efforts. Before their arrival, their sister Nadezhda and her family had already settled in the country. Armed with nothing but hope, resilience, and unwavering determination, the siblings worked tirelessly to build a better, safer, and more secure life for their families and future generations.

From Humanitarian Mission to Logistics Integration

Thanks to the active support of local communities, they organized the shipment of vital humanitarian aid—including food, clothing, and basic necessities—to the former republics of the USSR. As container shipping volumes grew, the founders saw a unique opportunity. They came up with the idea of purchasing a commercial truck to ensure financial stability for their families while also helping the Mission transport humanitarian cargo from various states.

This pivotal decision marked the brothers' entry into the commercial trucking industry. In 1993, they secured a loan to purchase their first Freightliner truck and established their first commercial company, Continental Express of Oregon, which operated entirely separate from their non-profit activities. Nadezhda skillfully coordinated the commercial freight operations.

The Origins and Legacy of NV Transport Inc.

In 2002, the company was officially incorporated under its current name—NV Transport Inc. The company’s name proudly incorporates the initials of its founders’ first names—Nikolai (N) and Valery (V).

Decades after our first container shipment, we remain deeply committed to the values upon which this company was founded. Today, NV Transport Inc. operates as a premier logistics provider, combining business professionalism with selfless humanitarian aid.
